Huli ka lima i lalo!
Huli ka lima i lalo is a proverb that translates to "turn your hands down" referring to the hard work that gets done when we are productive with our hands. When we turn our hands down and work together we create laulima, which translates to “many hands.” With your help, we are many hands working together to care for Kawainui and all that the water gives life to.

What to wear:

We also ask that our volunteers come with a sense of mindfulness and to please leave all valuables at home. We haven't had any problems and we are being proactive to keep it a positive space with awesome experiences only.
Please note there is no bathroom facility on site.

What to wear:
- Covered toe shoes for example tennis shoes, hiking shoes or rubber boots that can get dirty, wet, muddy or stained
- Long pants like jeans, cargo pants, or yoga pants that can get dirty or stained to prevent scrapes or possible insect bite
- Long sleeve shirts like the moisture wicking shirts for the gym or beach to protect your skin from the itchy grass or possible insect bites
- Sun hat or baseball cap to keep the sun out of your eyes and prevent sunburn on your face or neck
Please Bring:
- Water bottle and we will have a water jug to re-fill bottles
- Gloves (optional)
- Sunscreen
- Mosquito repellent
- Aloha for the ʻāina
